Super Awesome Funky Flair Studio

Hi Scrappy friends, I am representing Funky Flair Studio today.

I chose to use the awesome Grungy Icons set

I created a background with Colour Blast paste and some Shimmer spray. The papers and other embellishments I have used are from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio You Rock collection.

The flair were perfect for a an extreme boyish page.

Love these photos of my little guy being the daredevil he is on the water with a family friend.

What have you been creating with your flair? I would love to see.

Happy scrapping

SBT50 Australia Feb Challenge

Eek how is it the end of February today already...

I am sneaking in some last minute challenge entries. The first one is this awesome inspiration piece from Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia.

I have used the Cocoa Vanilla Wild at Heart Collection. I added some splatters of Gold Colour Shine from Heidi Swapp and a few random enamel dots. The Love title comes from some Thickers from I think an Amy Tangerine collection.

The floral diecuts in this collection were just perfect and I fussy cut more florals from one of the gorgeous papers.

Love the look on my little guy's face.

I also added in some diecut flowers and leaves in white for some subtle texture.

I was really pleased with how this page turned out.

#30daysofsketches Day 2 Adventure

Have you checked out Christy's Beautiful Life on you tube yet?

I am loving the sketches so far - she is up to Day 15 today so I have some catching up to do.

Day 2 was another Laura Whitaker sketch (love her style)

And here is my version using the You Rock collection from Cocoa Vanilla to scrap some cruise photos of my hubby and I.

I added some stamping in black Archival ink using a stitched circle stamp from Kaisercraft.

I cut some elements from cut apart sheet to create my title cluster.

The final touch was some sprinkles with a Mr Huey Mist in Sherbet.

Loved how bright and fun this layout turned out.

Happy scrapping

Hello Mister Awesome #Rediscoveryourstash

I am still playing along with the fabulous challenges by Sara Scraps and Khristina Sorge in the 30 day Spending Freeze Rediscover your stash challenge on Facebook.

Challenge No 6 was to use wood veneer. Khristina posted a gorgeous inspiration layout by Tegan for Paper Issues.

And here is my version

I used the wood veneer from Cocoa Vanilla "You Rock" with a few extra stars and arrows thrown in from my stash.

I used the packaging from the Collection pack for the strips across my layout. It was just too cute to throw away.

I layered in some extra papers from the collection and it was done.

I am loving the challenges in the Rediscover Your Stash group. There are some great ideas to use products differently to how I normally would. Always good to try new things.

I hope you get some creative time this weekend.

Happy Scrapping

30 Days of Sketches No.3 - You are my World

Following on from Sunday's post on Christy's 30 days of sketches project, here is my version of sketch No. 3 by Laura Whitaker. I love Laura's sketches so much.

I started with white cardstock and added some colour with the "packaging technique" and Mr Huey's mist in Sherbet.  I am still playing with the Cocoa Vanilla "You Rock" collection from my Design Team pack from Scrapping Clearly (did I mention how much I love this collection?), so all I needed to add were some sweet heart wood veneers from Flutterby Designs and some enamel dots from my stash.

Just look at that wonky stitching - no wonder I barely passed Textiles and Design at School. My skills have clearly not improved.

This layout came together really quickly. That is the magic of a good sketch.

Happy scrapping.

30 Days of Sketches Day 1 "That's My Boy"

Christy from Christy's Beautiful Life on You Tube has a great project happening this month with 30 days of sketches.

Each day she releases a new video using a new sketch and she has some great guests along the way too.

The first sketch by Laura Whitaker really caught my eye.

I am still using the remains of my Cocoa Vanilla You Rock collection from Scrapping Clearly. This collection is so versatile and I have really enjoyed working with it.

I loved the strips and fun circle elements on the sketch. I added in some teeny wood veneer stars from Flutterby Designs. They are so cute and just perfect for sprinkling about on a layout.

I also added some sprinkles with mist Heidi Swapp Colorshine in Navy and Studio Calico Mr Huey in Sherbert) and a wee bit of stamping in black ink with a texture stamp.

Are you playing along with Christy's 30 days of Sketches?

Should be a month full of inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy creating

Wild Boy - Colour Blast Jan 2018 Challenge

Hi there,

This month's challenge in the Colour Blast Creative Corner group on Facebook is to use Colour Blast products on a black cardstock background using the following sketch.

I loved this sketch - so fun and versatile.

I started with the required black cardstock background and stencilled some Colour Blast paste in Steel using a Dylusions Stencil. Once that dried my next step was to try and bring in some more colour so I added some smudges and fingertip circles of "Just Blue" paste together with a teeny circle stencil. Lastly I added some smudges of Tangareen Dream. I love how vibrant the colours are on black cardstock.

Once my background was dry it was time for my paper layers and embellishing. I started with the Cocoa Vanilla You Rock collection.

I built up my main photo layers with a negative frame and some black punchinella .

Then it was time to embellish with plenty of the wood veneer from the You Rock collection plus some stickers and chipboard.

My title uses a funky wood veneer alphabet from Thickers combined with a chipboard sticker.

I felt like the layout needing some framing so I added a line around the edge with a Posca Paint Pen and some splatters of white mist and taa daa finished.

Thanks for checking out my layout today.

Will you be playing along with the challenge?

Also, did you know Colour Blast have started a subscription kit? The first kit ships in February and I am so excited to start building my Colour Blast collection. At the moment all I have are the Colour Pastes (which I adore and have nearly emptied) and one lonely Colour Spray, so the kits are going to be brilliant for me.

Hope you get some creative time over the weekend.

Happy scrapping

Rediscover your Stash - Spending Freeze Round 3

Some of my favourite You Tubers, Khristina Sorge and Sara Scraps, have an awesome month long challenge going; the gist of the challenge is to be using your stash and having fun along the way.

They have some awesome challenges happening all month in the Facebook Event they have set up.

The first challenge was this super cute sketch:

As soon as I saw it I knew it would be perfect for some of the Cocoa Vanilla You Rock paper scraps I had left on my desk after completing some DT projects for Scrapping Clearly (spoiler alert I am working with You Rock in January - happy dance).

This was a fun layout to create, although I have to admit sewing those straight lines between where the paper squares are was a challenge. I am much happier sewing squiggly lines.

I added some black splatters with a stamp from Darkroom Door and then sprinkled some mists (Colour Blast "Sunset", Studio Calico Mr Huey in Sherbert and Heidi Swapp Colour Shine in Navy)

All the embellishments are from the Cocoa Vanilla You Rock range as well: the Accessory Sticker Sheet, Chipboard Stickers, Wood Veneer, Rubber Tags and Diecuts.

So what are your scrappy goals this year?

I have a couple but the main one is to use more than I buy this year.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy creating.

Kraft + July Challenge

Kraft + has an interesting challenge this month: Roses three ways

When I saw the challenge I immediately thought of my most recent tattoo by the talented Eddy-Lou at FLT Tattoo Studio in Newcastle. I had Eddy-Lou design a custom Alice in Wonderland inspired piece for my thigh which of course had to include roses. I couldn't be happier with the end result - there is even a little number 4 playing card tucked into the Mad Hatter's hat to represent my four boys.

For the three ways challenge I have used in the background a Kaisercraft Rose Stencil with Colourblast paste, fussy cut rose paper from Aldi, Wood veneer roses from Cocoa Vanilla Studios and as a bonus my rose tattoo in the photos.

I have also used some super cute Alice flair badges from Funky Flair Studio.

Thanks for stopping by

July Scrap the Boys

July at Scrap the Boys the challenge is a great sketch by Laura Whitaker.

I stuck pretty closely to the sketch with my interpretation using three photos and the large banner element in the background.

The photos were taken in the car with the sun streaming through the windows so not the best quality but I really wanted to document this stage in my little guys world.

I have used lots of papers and goodies from Cocoa Vanilla Studios You Rock collection to complete my layout about my little guy and his plushie obsession.

I have also added in a little cut apart phrase from Flutterby Designs and some of their wood veneer stars. The little cork arrow was from American Crafts.
Thanks for stopping by.

June Kraft Plus Challenge

The month of June features a pretty cool challenge at Kraft Plus challenges: Kraft plus one other colour of your choice.

Being a Mumma of four boys the obvious choice for me was blue.

I used the gorgeous You Rock collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studios (part of my amazingly generous prize from Scrapbooking Delights last month).

Love these pics of my little guy in his big brother's hat. He thought he was very cool.

The kraft patterned paper I have used was from the Basic Gray Basics collection back in 2009 (eek).

Have you entered the challenge this month?

Thanks for stopping by

June Scrap the Boys Challenge

Hi Scrappers,

Over at the Scrap the Boys Blog this month they have a great colour challenge

I loved this colour combo. It is just so bright, fresh and fun.

Here is my take on the challenge

Love this photo of my boys with me back in 2013. Wow time really does fly. Must be time for another New Zealand adventure.

I have used the You Rock collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studios. The colours were just perfect for this challenge. The only other extras were a black and white text tag from American Crafts and a small cork heart.

Thanks for stopping by

Happy scrapping

Boys will be Boys

Hi scrapbookers,

The Facebook event Rediscover your Stash 40 days of no spending hosted by Sara Scraps and Khristina Sorge has had some amazing challenges over the last month. One was this great sketch from Page Maps.

And here is my version of the sketch.

I still have to add my journaling on the notebook paper when I find my notes. I obviously put them somewhere very special.
The layout features the You Rock collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio.
Cocoa Vanilla's You Rock collection has to be one of my all time favourite collections. It is just so versatile.
The only items not from Cocoa Vanilla were the wood veneer stars from Flutterby Designs and the chipboard play sticker from Me and My Big ideas.

I wouldn't normally scrap on the diagonal like this but I am really happy with how the layout turned out.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Scrapping
