He's Got Swagger

Hi there,

Today I am sharing a layout created for Funky Flairs Studio using the awesome Wild One flair set.

I created my background with Dina Wakley paint in Night and then added a little stencilling with a crackle stencil and Dylusions paint in White Linen.

I stamped my background with my fresh out of the packet Dina Wakley stamp set Grungy Stars. I think I might have a new fave. Love stars for boy pages. I added a bit of extra stamping with an old Kaisercraft grid stamp.

I also added some gyprock tape and washi tape to my background for extra texture and interest. Next up I created some paper layers around my photo using Shimelle's Go Now Go collection and a newsprint tag from American crafts.

And then it was time to embellish.

I have used:

Potty People and tab wood veneer from Studio Calico
Star wood veneer from Flutterby Designs
Word strips and letter stickers from Flutterby Designs
Denim star embellishment from Charms Creations
Enamel stars from Shimelle, American Crafts
Black Enamel thickers from American Crafts
and of course two awesome flairs from Funky Flairs Studio

White with.....Toffee Crunch

It's a brand new month and that  means a new colour challenge at White with 1. This month the colour of choice is Toffee Crunch (doesn't it sound delicious).

An added bonus we get a sketch to work with from Page Maps

I stuck very closely to the sketch. It takes all the guess work out of it.

I decided to go with an outdoorsy theme to scrap these pics of my little guy and my sister's puppy exploring while we set up camp.

The wood veneer frame is from Amy Tangerine and the leaves are from Kaisercraft.

The cute little tabs and word strips are from Flutterby Designs.

I hope you play along with us this month at White with 1.

Kraft Plus Guest Designer

I am so excited to be Guest Designer at Kraft Plus this month. I love their challenges and try and play along most months.

Here is the amazing sketch we got to work with

Here is my layout "Us":

I created my background with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Faded Jeans and Pistachio. I added some stencilling with white texture paste and Whipped Spackle from Faber Castell.

Then some stamping with a Kaisercraft texture stamp.

I started each cluster with a large white doily.

My fussy cut flowers came from the Kaisercraft Wandering Ivy Collection. The colours in this collection were perfect to go with this photo of my hubby and I.

I hope you play along this month at Kraft Plus. As always there are some fantastic prizes up for grabs from the amazing Sponsors.

Fiji Picture Perfect - CSI Case File 247

Another very last minute entry for February challenges, this time the CSI Challenge. I have never played along before so it was good to try another challenge.

I immediately thought of some pics from our 2012 holiday to Fiji that I was still to scrap.

The colour scheme was so bright and fun.

I fussy cut the Hibiscus flowers from a Kaisercraft paper.

The tropical theme wood veneers were also from Kaisercraft.

Thanks for stopping by,

My first ever post for Funky Flair Studio - Dreamer

I am so excited to share today my first ever post for Funky Flair Studio as part of the Design Team.

You may have noticed I have been using their Flair and kits for a while so when the lovely Evie (owner of Funky Flair Studio) put up a call for new Design Team members I was quick to send through some samples. When my first package of flair arrived it was happy days indeed.

But enough rambling, here is my share

I have used the gorgeous Indigo Blue Kit from the shop. These kits are limited edition with each release. I loved the gorgeous blues in this kit.

Here is a closer look

This little silver arrow was just so cute

Thanks for checking out my first DT share.

Don't forget to share your projects using Funky Flair products in the facebook group. I would love to see what you are creating.

White with 1 - January 2018

I am so excited to share my first Design Team layout for White with 1.

The January challenge is a mood board featuring the gorgeous Blue Bayou colour.

I was inspired by the stripes and the washed out blue on the pots.

I started with a white-washed woodgrain patterned paper from Kaisercraft.

I added some misting with Heidi Swapp Colour Shine in Navy and then stencilled over the top with texture paste. I added a little more mist and some extra stencilling with an alphabet stencil from

It was looking a little too blue for my liking so I added some splatters of Studio Calico mist in white.

I cut down my background piece slightly before mounting it onto blue cardstock and adding some machine stitching for extra texture and to help frame the layout. I love to rough up the edges of my papers with a distress tool (or my fingernails) for extra interest.

This was a real stash busting layout. I keep my random embellishments, flowers etc in plastic containers sorted by colour, so I grabbed out my blue and white containers and started pulling embellishments I thought would work with this cute photo of Sam with my hubby and myself at his presentation day.

In the mix I have added:
* hand dyed crochet doilies
* cut apart phrases from Flutterby Designs
* flair badge from Funky Flair Studio
* tile word phrase from Lil Davis Designs (am I the only one still holding on to some of these??)
* number sheet from Collections
* diecuts from the Indigo Skies collection from Kaisercraft
* puffy camera sticker from Amy Tangerine
* miscellaneous flowers (the denim one is divine)
* my all time favourite newsprint tags from American Crafts
* and last but not least a white doily.

I added my title with white foam thickers from American Crafts and added my journaling with typed strips. I am lucky enough to have been given an ancient typewriter from my Great Uncle. It is awesome but I will quickly have to figure out where I can get replacement ribbons. Any tips please let know in the comments.

I hope you will play along with us this month at White with 1.

Can't wait to see what you create.

Kraft Plus December

Hi all,

The Kraft Plus challenge this month is so pretty...just so much to be inspired by.

I was immediately drawn to the circles, the pretty pastels and the teal table.

I used a gorgeous Kaisercraft paper that is a woodgrain with peeled teal paint (love it) to frame my layout. I broke out the sizzix dies and dusted off my circle cutter.

I have used Everyday Etc cards from Flutterby Designs to fill my circles and added some wooden circle tags from Amy Tangerine. I finished off with a few buttons and brads to add to the circle theme.

Thanks for stopping by.

Uniquely Creative Nov Kit 2017 .....Part 3

Hi there scrappy peeps,

I am continuing on with my share of my Uniquely Creative November kit layouts today.

This layout (no. 7)was based on Kasia's awesome Beach Babe layout from the Magazine. I loved the scribbly circle die that was one of the add ons this month. I can see this one being used a lot in my layouts.

Layout number 8 was a challenge I set myself to use all the cute little barcode strips off of the Kaisercraft patterned papers.

I was pleased with how this turned out so it might be a go to layout when I get a stack of strips next to the trimmer.

I also made a pocket page to include the rest of the photos from our Shore Excursion at Tangalooma.

If you are counting along that is layout number 9 and I have more to share tomorrow ...

Uniquely Creative Nov 2017 Kit....Part 2

Hi there,

Continuing on with my share of the projects I have created from November's gorgeous summer themed kit from Uniquely Creative.

Layout 4 "Pacific Jewel" was a based on Maria Aloisi's inspirational layout from page 17 of the magazine. I loved her banner idea and adapted it a little to suit my giant photo from our boarding photo for our family cruise.

And yes we did do matching shirts - they were pretty cute.

Layout 5 is based on another of Maria's gorgeous examples; another layout for my cruise album.

Layout 6 is a mix of a layout by Alicia McNamara in the Kaisercraft magazine and a layout by Kasia Leach from the Uniquely Creative Idea magazine.

This is a pic of my gorgeous baby sister at Laurieton.  We love summer holidays camping by the beach.

I'll share the rest of my projects tomorrow,

Thanks for stopping by

Kraft + July Challenge

Kraft + has an interesting challenge this month: Roses three ways

When I saw the challenge I immediately thought of my most recent tattoo by the talented Eddy-Lou at FLT Tattoo Studio in Newcastle. I had Eddy-Lou design a custom Alice in Wonderland inspired piece for my thigh which of course had to include roses. I couldn't be happier with the end result - there is even a little number 4 playing card tucked into the Mad Hatter's hat to represent my four boys.

For the three ways challenge I have used in the background a Kaisercraft Rose Stencil with Colourblast paste, fussy cut rose paper from Aldi, Wood veneer roses from Cocoa Vanilla Studios and as a bonus my rose tattoo in the photos.

I have also used some super cute Alice flair badges from Funky Flair Studio.

Thanks for stopping by

Miss Rosy - June Kaisercraft Blog Challenge

Hello everyone,

This months challenge at the Kaisercraft Blog is to use circles (and 80% Kaisercraft product) so since I love circular designs and I had some new Kaisercraft goodies with their cute pet line Pawsome I decided to join in the fun.

I created a circle shape with splashes of white mist to start and then layered punched circles, hearts and diecut pieces from the Collectibles. I layered my photo mat on a kraft tag and added some pops of pink from the Kaisercraft Happy Snaps line. Since I have four boys, when I get a chance to scrap two of my girl dogs I like to make it a little girly. The final touches were some enamel dots and a supercute bone shaped paperclip that has been in my stash forever.

Here is a closer look at some of the cute diecuts

That little pup just reminded me of Miss Rosy so much it was the start of the whole page.

And how gorgeous is that woodgrain background paper. I think I will need extras of that sheet.

Thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping.

Kraft Plus May Challenge - Outside the Box

Anyone that know my scrapbooking style knows that shaped photos are not my thing ..................at all. So the May Kraft Plus challenge to use a photo that was not a rectangle or square was just that.. a challenge.

I kept it simple and went with circle photos(baby steps people). I cracked out my Stampin' Up circle cutter (a tool that has not seen the light of day for quite a few years) and got to it. I also used my Stampin' Up starburst circle dies (love them). I used some Dylusions Ink in teal and orange to create some splotches in my background and set to layering circles.

And this was the end result of all those circles.. and I have to admit I do kinda like it

I have been on a bit of a stash busting mission of late so those papers are all from my scrap basket (mostly Kaisercraft Technologic).

I added some extra detail with circle  and star wood veneer from Flutterby Designs plus the gorgeous You are My Happy title is also from Flutterby. I am trying to use some of my wood veneer titles as well instead of just hoarding them. I am a work in progress.

I have also used some word stickers from Cocoa Vanilla Studios and cork arrows from American Crafts.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my entry for this months' challenge.

Happy Scrapping
